Answer the call of the wild and come face-to-face with one of our planet’s most majestic creatures. This unforgettable 3-day adventure takes you deep into the heart of Southwest Uganda for a once-in-a-lifetime encounter: tracking endangered mountain gorillas in the breathtaking, mist-covered Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

We believe the best adventures are shared, which is why we offer you the chance to join a small group of fellow explorers on set dates. Or, if you’re dreaming of a private journey or a romantic escape for two, you have the freedom to choose your own departure date. Your incredible story in the jungle awaits.

Highlights

  • A Moment You'll Never Forget: Spend a magical hour in the presence of a wild mountain gorilla family, observing their human-like interactions in their natural, ancient forest home.
  • Journey Through 'The Switzerland of Africa': Enjoy a scenic road trip through the stunning, rolling hills and vibrant local communities of Southwest Uganda.
  • Stay in Legendary Lodges: Rest your head at the historic Travellers Rest Hotel, once the base for famed primatologist Dian Fossey, or the beautiful Gorilla Valley Lodge, both offering unique charm and comfort.
  • Travel in Comfort & Style: All your ground transport is in a custom 4WD Landcruiser with a pop-up roof, ensuring a comfortable ride and perfect views and photos through your personal window seat.
  • Cultural Pitstops: Break up your journey with visits to the Igongo Cultural Centre and the iconic Uganda Equator line for photos, souvenirs, and a fresh cup of coffee.

Day 1: The Scenic Journey into the Misty Highlands

Your adventure begins early as your friendly driver-guide picks you up from your accommodation. We'll set off towards Southwest Uganda, watching the landscape transform from the city to the lush countryside. We'll stop for a delicious lunch at the renowned Igongo Cultural Centre before continuing our scenic drive through the beautiful, terraced hills of the Rukugiri region. By evening, you'll arrive at the edge of the mystical Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Check into your lodge, enjoy a warm dinner, and fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking - The Main Event!

This is the day! After an early breakfast, you'll be driven to the park headquarters for a 7:45 am briefing. By 8:30 am, you'll set off on your trek into the dense, verdant forest. The hike can be challenging (3-9 hours round-trip) but is an adventure in itself, and the reward is beyond compare. Once you find the gorillas, you'll have a full hour to sit quietly and witness their daily life—a profoundly moving experience. After your trek, you'll return to the lodge, exhausted but elated, with memories to last a lifetime.
