Embark on a condensed yet profoundly rich African adventure that bridges two iconic landscapes. This journey takes you from the vast, wildlife-crammed caldera of Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater—often called the ‘Garden of Eden’—to the lush, echoing canopy of Uganda’s Kibale Forest, the primate capital of the world.
In just five days, you’ll witness the full spectrum of African beauty. Stand on the edge of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, teeming with iconic savannah wildlife. Then, travel to where the air is thick with the calls of birds and primates, for an intimate, heart-pounding encounter with our charismatic chimpanzee cousins. This is more than a safari; it’s a journey through time, tracing the steps of early mankind at Olduvai Gorge and connecting with the living ancestors of our own family tree.
As you step out of Kilimanjaro International Airport, our friendly driver-guide will be there to welcome you with a warm smile. After a brief introduction to your incredible five-day journey, we'll set off on a scenic drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Settle into your lodge, enjoy a delicious lunch, and then, the adventure begins! Your first afternoon game drive offers a thrilling preview of the wildlife to come—spot lions, elephants, and perhaps even a elusive leopard before returning for a relaxing dinner under the African sky.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, we descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of exploration. This is a wildlife photographer's dream, with a high concentration of animals in a breathtaking setting. Keep your camera ready for the Big Five and the stunning flocks of flamingos on Lake Magadi. In the afternoon, we'll visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum, a fascinating stop that tells the story of our earliest ancestors. We'll return to the lodge in the evening, filled with memories of a truly spectacular day.
Enjoy one last morning game drive in Tanzania, a perfect chance to see the "early risers" of the savannah. After breakfast, we'll drive to Arusha to catch your flight to Uganda. Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, you'll be greeted by your Ugandan guide who will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation for a good night's rest. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We'll make an early start today to beat the city traffic, heading west on a journey through Uganda's stunning, verdant landscapes. As we approach, the majestic Rwenzori Mountains (the "Mountains of the Moon") come into view. This afternoon, we'll stretch our legs on a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This community-run project is a haven for birds and monkeys, and a wonderful opportunity to connect with local culture in a nearby village. We'll check into our lodge near the forest as the sun sets.
This is the day you've been waiting for! After an early breakfast, we'll head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into Kibale Forest. The trek itself is an adventure—listening for hoots and following rustles in the canopy until you find them. Watching a community of chimpanzees feed, play, and interact is a humbling and joyous experience you will carry with you forever. After this unforgettable hour, we return to the lodge for lunch before beginning the scenic drive back to Entebbe for your departure flight, marking the end of your incredible two-country safari.
