DAY 1: Naro Moru

Depart from Nairobi at 9:00hrs and head towards the slopes of Mt. Kenya. We will cross the equator and arrive at the Nanyuki Hotel in time for lunch. Guests can relax and enjoy your stay at the lodge with a view of Africa’s highest mountain upfront. There will be dinner and an overnight stay at the Simbas Lodge.

DAY 2: Met Campsite

We will drive to the Naromoru Gate and then walk to the Met station, which is at 11,000 ft. Here you will spend the night in high altitude mountain tents. 9kms 3-4 hrs walk. We will stay overnight at Met Station camp.

DAY 3: Mackinders Camp

You will ascend to the Mackinders camp and spend the night in this beautiful little valley below the subsidiary peaks of Point John and Diamond Cooler. 15 km 5-6 hr walk

DAY 4: Mackinder Camp -Summit Pt Lenana

We will climb up to Point Lenana then to Mintos for breakfast; then, we will go down to Chogoria Park Gate Bandas to stay overnight. 18 km from Mintos, 5-6 hr walk.

DAY 5: Chogoria Bandas - Chogoria town

We will descend from Bandas to Chogoria Town with the option of walking half way taking and taking a 4x4 for a drive. The walk is 7 hr and by vehicle it takes 2 1/2 hrs. Then we will drive to Nairobi and stay overnight at the Comfort Inn.

DAY 6: Shuttle bus Nairobi-Moshi

We will take the Board Riverside shuttle bus or the Davanu shuttle bus from Nairobi at 8:00 hrs and proceed to Arusha, arriving at 1300hrs. Then we will depart for Moshi at 1400hrs and arrive at 1530hrs. We will have dinner and stay overnight at a hotel in Moshi or (Pick up from Kilimanajaro airport and transfer to hotel in Moshi).

DAY 7: Machame Gate (1490m) - Machame camp (2980m)

Distance: About 18 km's Habitat: Montane forest Hiking time: 7 hours Transfer from your hotel to the Kilimanjaro National Park gate at Machame. From here, you will trek through the forest to Machame hut. Overnight stay at the camp.

DAY 8: Machame Camp (2980m) - Shira Camp (3840m)

Hiking time: 6 hours Habitat: Moorland Distance: About 9 km's Leave the forest. The path follows a steep ridge passing through open moorlands crossing a large gorge to reach Shira hut. Overnight stay at the camp

DAY 9: Shira (3840m) - Lava Tower (4630m) - Barranco Camp (3950m)

Hiking time: 7 hours Distance: About 15 km's Habitat: Semi desert You will turn east and continue ascending through the dry landscape before dropping again to reach the Barranco hut. Overnight stay at the camp.

DAY 10: Barranco Camp (3950m) - Barafu Camp (4550m)

Hiking time: 7 hours Habitat: Alpine desert Distance: About 13 km's The path climbs steep out of the Barranco Valley and crosses the Karanga Valley, then turns north to reach the Barafu Hut. Overnight stay at the camp.

DAY 11: SUMMIT ATTEMPT Barafu Camp (4550m)-Uhuru Peak (5895m)-Mweka (3100m)

Distance: About 7 km's ascent - 23 km's descent Hiking time: 8 hours to reach Uhuru Peak 7/8 hours to descend to Mweka Habitat: Stone and ice-capped summit This will be a long day with an early start to reach the crater. We will arrive at the Stella Point in time for sunrise and then head to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After wards, we’ll descend to Gilman's Point and down to Horombo hut. Overnight stay at the camp.

DAY 12

Descend down passing the Mandara hut to the gate where you are transferred back to your hotel in Moshi for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 13

After breakfast, you will board the shuttle bus from your hotel and proceed to Nairobi arriving late in the afternoon (6.30 PM).

  • Professional Guides: Certified, experienced, and English-speaking mountain guides.
  • Park Fees & Permits: All national park entrance fees, climbing permits, and camping fees.
  • Accommodation: All accommodation during the climb (mountain huts on Mt. Kenya and tents on Kilimanjaro, as per itinerary).
  • Meals: All meals on the mountain as specified in the itinerary (typically breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
  • Porter & Support Crew: A dedicated team of porters to carry communal gear and set up camp.
  • Transportation: All ground transportation as per the itinerary, including from Mt. Kenya to the Kilimanjaro starting point.
  • Pre-Climb Briefing: A comprehensive briefing before the start of your climb.
  • International Flights: Airfare to and from Kenya/Tanzania.
  • Visas: Tourist visas for Kenya and/or Tanzania.
  • Accommodation: Hotel accommodation before and after the climb (can often be arranged as an add-on).
  • Meals & Drinks: Meals and beverages not on the mountain (e.g., in cities).
  • Personal Gear: Rental of personal climbing equipment (e.g., sleeping bags, trekking poles, clothing).
