Escape for a long weekend into the heart of Africa’s vibrant rainforest! This adventure is perfect for those seeking a wild, immersive experience without taking a full week off. Every Friday, we set off to meet the playful chimpanzees of Kibale Forest. Or, if you’re planning a romantic getaway or a private trip with friends, you can choose your own departure date for a more intimate experience.
Get ready to fall asleep to the symphony of the jungle and wake up to the calls of exotic birds. This isn’t just a tour; it’s your front-row seat to the wonders of the wild.
After an early breakfast, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala, and our journey west begins. We'll make stops for a delicious lunch and to soak in the breathtaking scenery of tea plantations and rolling hills. By afternoon, you'll be settling into your comfortable accommodation at Kibale Forest Camp. As dusk falls, listen closely—the tropical rainforest is just waking up, and its nocturnal chorus is a welcome like no other.
Today is the day! After a hearty breakfast, we head to the park headquarters for an 8:00 AM chimpanzee trekking briefing. Then, we venture into the forest for an incredible 4-hour walk. Kibale is a primate paradise, so while the chimps are the stars, keep your eyes peeled for at least 10 other primate species! In the afternoon, we trade the dense forest for the open skies of the Bigodi Swamp. This community-run wetland walk is a birdwatcher's dream and a chance to spot the elusive Sitatunga antelope.
Enjoy one last peaceful breakfast in the forest before we begin our scenic journey back. We'll take our time, stopping for photos and a final lunch together. We will drop you off at your preferred hotel in Kampala or, if you're flying out, we'll ensure you get to Entebbe Airport refreshed and in good time for your flight.
