Prepare for an adventure that will touch your soul. This 8-day safari is a carefully woven tapestry of Uganda’s most profound experiences, taking you from the misty, ancient forests where our closest relatives roam to the vast, wildlife-rich savannahs. It’s more than a trip; it’s a chance to look into the eyes of a mountain gorilla, hear the morning chorus of chimpanzees, and feel the raw pulse of the African wilderness. We invite you to disconnect from the everyday and immerse yourself in the stories of the wild.

Highlights

  • A Moment with the Gentle Giants: Spend a sacred, awe-inspiring hour in the presence of a mountain gorilla family in the breathtaking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
  • Walk with Our Cousins: Trek through Kibale's lush rainforest to find a lively community of chimpanzees and watch their human-like antics.
  • The Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishasha: Go on a quest in Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot the legendary lions lazily lounging in the fig trees.
  • A Waterway Teeming with Life: Glide down the Kazinga Channel on a boat cruise, getting up close to hippos, crocodiles, and a spectacular array of birdlife.
  • A Culture Steeped in the Forest: Share stories and smiles with the Batwa Pygmies, the ancient guardians of the forest, and learn about their rich heritage.
  • The Wild in Motion: Experience the thrill of classic African game drives at dawn and dusk, searching for elephants, buffalo, leopards, and more.

Day 1: Into the Heart of the Primate Capital

After a warm welcome and briefing in Kampala, we journey west. The drive itself is a scenic adventure, rolling through vibrant towns, lush hills, and vast plantations. We'll stop for lunch at a local spot before arriving at your comfortable lodge near Kibale Forest, where you can relax to the sounds of the wild.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Chatter & A Walk on the Wet Side

Wake up to the sounds of the forest and head out for an unforgettable chimpanzee trek. Your guide will lead you as you listen for their calls and watch them swing through the canopy. After this magical encounter, enjoy a guided nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland, a community project where you can spot more primates and birds while supporting local livelihoods.

Day 3: From Forest to Savannah

After breakfast, we say goodbye to Kibale and make our way to the renowned Queen Elizabeth National Park. The landscape transforms as we drive, and we’ll stop to admire the dramatic volcanic crater lakes. After settling into your lodge and lunch, we head out for an evening game drive, hoping to catch the predators as they begin their nightly routines.

Day 4: Game Drives & A Water Safari

Rise early for a morning game drive when the animals are most active. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, elephants, and herds of Uganda kob. Later, we trade the safari vehicle for a boat and embark on a cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This is your front-row seat to one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa, with countless birds and crocodiles lining the shores.

Day 5: Wings & The King

Today, we focus on the details. An optional morning birding excursion reveals the park's incredible avian diversity. In the afternoon, we embark on a unique lion tracking experience, learning from expert guides about the behavior and social structures of these magnificent cats.

Day 6: The Road to the Misty Mountains

We journey southwards today, traversing the famous Ishasha sector in search of its unique tree-climbing lions. After a picnic lunch, we continue our scenic drive, climbing into the highlands towards the world-famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, your gateway to the gorillas.

Day 7: The Gorilla Trekking Experience

This is the day you’ve been waiting for. After an early breakfast and briefing, you will begin your trek into the ancient, dense forest. The hike can be challenging but is immensely rewarding. The moment you meet a gorilla family is pure magic—a deeply moving and humbling encounter you will carry with you forever. In the afternoon, you have the privilege of meeting the Batwa community for a captivating cultural performance.

Day 8: Farewell, But Not Goodbye

We enjoy one last Ugandan breakfast before beginning our return journey to Kampala/Entebbe. We’ll break up the drive with a memorable stop at the Equator for photos and a fascinating demonstration before arriving at the airport for your departure flight, filled with memories to last a lifetime.
